Brief Introductions giving each
individual involved the opportunity to express how they feel at that
particular time. |

A short background of the facilitators
and how they have re-directed their personal lives. |

Brief discussion on gang history and the
negatives associated with it. |

A review in laws and policies that have
recently passed affecting young men and women and the consequences of
these laws. |

We instruct on how to set goals, the
decision making process and problem solving techniques. We instruct on
how to respond with logic and not emotions and the best ways to deal
with anger. |

We instruct on how to deal with
self-esteem issues and being honest with ourselves. |
 |
We instruct on social skills and how to
interact in school, home and in the community. |
 |
We instruct on effective communication
and how to convey our thoughts and ideas. |
 |
We discuss responsibilities to our
family, schools, community and ourselves. |
 |
We then discuss resources and which ones
are visible in the community and which ones are needed and our role with
2nd Call and our collaborating agencies in providing or
referring individuals to those resources. |
This particular workshop will take an
estimated 2 hours with approximately 20 to 25participants. Participation
and number of youth will sometimes vary, exceeding or preceding the
time-line set for 2 hours.
